THE CAMBRIDGE LECTURES

Queens’ College, University of Cambridge, England

NON-DELEGATES' PROGRAMME

While at Cambridge Non-Delegates are invited to participate in the Non-Delegates’ Programme. The Programme is designed to provide the spouses and partners of the delegates with an informative and enjoyable look at points of interest in Cambridge and the surrounding area.

The Non-Delegates’ Programme has met with great success in the past with a number of half day and full day tours. Traditionally, at the beginning of the Programme, a Guided Walking Tour of Cambridge has provided participants with an orientation to the university and its colleges. In prior years the Programme has also included a full day tour to Windsor to see both the Castle and the town itself. Other organized tours have included trips to Ely Cathedral, Anglesey Abbey, The Cambridge University Botanical Gardens and the Fitzwilliam Museum, among other destinations. A visit to the Newmarket Races has also proved popular with delegates and non-delegates alike on an afternoon without scheduled lectures.

As stated above, the Non-Delegates’ Programme consists of a number of half day and full day tours. Generally, the morning tours depart Queens’ College after breakfast returning for lunch and the afternoon tours leave the College after lunch and return in the late afternoon. In the past, one full day tour has been offered. All tours are hosted by local guides and transportation, as required, is included. The tours are offered to Non-Delegates at cost to the Institute. Non-Delegates can participate in all of the scheduled tours or select those of particular interest to them.
