Pierre-Alexandre graduated from the University of Ottawa with an LL.L. (summa cum laude) and an LL.B. (summa cum laude) in 2009 and 2010, respectively. He received a number of awards for academic excellence, including the University Gold Medal for the highest standing in the LL.L. program. In 2010-2011 Pierre-Alexandre served as a law clerk to the Honorable Mr. Justice Marc Noël of the Federal Court of Appeal. He has been a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada since June 2011.
While studying at the University of Ottawa, Pierre-Alexandre participated in the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition, and interned at the Privy Council Office and the Legal Affairs Bureau of the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade. As a member of the Foreign Policy Practicum of the University of Ottawa, he co-authored a report on the transfer of Afghan detainees that was submitted to the House of Commons Special Committee on the Canadian Mission in Afghanistan. Throughout his years at the Faculty of Law, Pierre-Alexandre was also a research assistant for numerous professors.
While at the University of Cambridge, Pierre-Alexandre plans to pursue courses in the field of international and European law. Upon his return from the United Kingdom, Pierre-Alexandre will serve as a law clerk to the Honorable Mr. Justice Louis LeBel at the Supreme Court of Canada.
