Charlotte completed her JD at Dalhousie University, where she received the University Medal in
Law for graduating at the top of her class. Before law school, she studied environmental
geography at the University of Toronto.
At Dalhousie, Charlotte was heavily involved in the academic community. She worked as a
research assistant for multiple faculty members and served as the Chief Student Editor of the
Dalhousie Law Journal. Charlotte also served as a peer academic mentor and represented
students in their hearings and appeals through Dalhousie Student Advocacy Service. In her final
year at Dalhousie, she undertook placements at the Nova Scotia Labour Board and the Nova
Scotia Court of Appeal. Over the course of her studies, she received several course prizes and
awards for community involvement.
After completing her studies, Charlotte clerked for the judges of the Ontario Superior Court of
Justice in Toronto and the Divisional Court. Finally, for the past two years, she has worked as an
immigration and refugee lawyer in Toronto.
